How We Do It

It is with the help of many that we can do this every weekend. We rely on the support of the community, our volunteers, and our donors.

Logistics

  • Los Roques

After 3 years in the Archipelago, every month a new volunteer couple travels to the community. This way, students have classes during weekdays and the weekend. They do different activities, inside and outside the classroom.

  • Canaima

Since we are just starting the pilot project in this location, classes are imparted from Thursday to Sunday every week, which is the most convenient schedule for our beneficiaries. Students also have dynamic classes inside and outside the classroom.

Plane Tickets

We organize our volunteers’ trips well in advance so that we can coordinate transportation and accommodation in good time. Our Logistics Coordination works hard to find the best flight options for our volunteers. Therefore, we are always open to working with new partners to get the best possible fares.

Accommodation

Both the community of Los Roques and Canaima have been very receptive to our project and have been involved from the beginning, helping us to find lodging for our volunteers. Several local posadas (bed-and-breakfast) and camps have welcomed us, always with great hospitality.

Entrance to the National Park

In Los Roques we are recognized by the Secretary of Social Protection of the Insular Territory as local workers.

Our Sponsors

All of our work and the work of our volunteers is completely non-for-profit, because of this we rely on the support of our Sponsors to buy the plane tickets each month to get our volunteers to Los Roques and Canaima, grant our E-VEN students uniforms, print our E-VEN English class books and buy office materials to make flashcards and games for our classes.

We have also received support in the form of materials directly, such as recycled paper and stickers to build recycled notebooks, balls and games to play with our students, and uniform shirts for our volunteer teachers. Last year, during the training process of our volunteer teachers we received free workshops from Psicoidear, Academia Merici, and Universidad Metropolitana’s Linguistic Department.

The help you can offer, is exactly the help we need. We believe in Venezuela, in its development, population, and future. And if you think there is anything you could do to support our project, do not hesitate to contact us, we will find a way to make you feel included.
